Elsie Mae Kelsey, 83, of Holton, KS formerly of Culver, KS passed away September 6, 2013 at her daughter's home after a short battle with cancer. She was born April 21, 1930 in Peabody, KS the daughter of Frank H. and Ethel P. (Hauser) Fisher.

Elsie attended school in Peabody, KS and had lived in Culver from 1966-1992 before moving to Holton. She worked as a CNA and CMA at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Minneapolis, KS and Crestview Nursing Home in Bennington, KS. Elsie was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton, Jackson County Friends of Hospice volunteer and a Girl Scout Leader in Culver.

She married Wayne Riley Kelsey on May 21, 1950 in Marion, KS. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Baby Ray Crowninshield.

Survivors include 2 sons, Calvin Kelsey (Cathy) of Assaria, KS and Charles Kelsey of Salina, KS; 5 daughters, Juanita "Jo" Krogman (David) of Holton, KS, Sandra Barnes (Dan) of El Mirage, AZ, Rhonda Base (Don) of Ada, KS, Susan LaMastus (Don) of Holton, KS and Alisa Crowninshield (Ray) of Minneapolis, KS; a sister, Faye Helmuth of Loveland, CO; a brother, Duane Fisher of Casa Grande, AZ; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Minneapolis First United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, KS. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Marion Cemetery in Marion, KS. Elsie will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. The visitation in Holton will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Mercer's.
