Obituary

Ellis A. Misenhelter, 92, of Holton passed away Sunday March 20, 2011 in Holton. He was born January 24, 1919 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Ellis Adam and Edna Beuhal (Meyer) Misenhelter.
Ellis graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, MO in 1936. He served in the Pacific Theater with the Army Air Force during WWII. He worked for General Motors and was a cabinet maker. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #62 in Kansas City. He was a Boy Scout Leader.
On January 20, 1942, he married Wawnee Leah Scott in Yuma, AZ, she survives. Other survivors include, his sons, Scott H. Misenhelter (Suzanne) of Holton, KS, Don E. Misenhelter (Cathy) of Overland Park, KS and Lance L. Misenhelter (Laura) of Platte Woods, MO; his daughters, Janet D. Shroyer (Jim) of Orlando, FL and Dana L. Mull (Jim) of Lawson, MO; and his eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Misenhelter.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 Thursday March 24, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, Missouri. The family will greet friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Holton Community Hospital Hospice and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
