Ella May Bahret

Ella May Bahret was born on October 2, 1963 in Onaga, KS the seventh child and second daughter born to Carol (Elder) Bahret and Blair Eddy Bahret. Ella came home to a lively family that grew with the addition of five more siblings.

Ella attended grade school in Havensville and graduated from Onaga High School in the Class of 1982. Ella came from a sports-minded family, and she participated in Cross Country in school. After graduation she worked at the Golden Acres Nursing Home in Onaga, Jackson County Nursing Home, Holton Pizza Hut and Holton Country Mart. She recently retired from Southside Liquor Store in Holton where she had been employed for many years.

Ella was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene in Holton. Ella was a collector of porcelain dolls and almost anything AVON. She was the sentimental family member who kept even the smallest of notes, pictures she received, and trinkets she received from family and friends. She could tell you the who, when, and why on it all. Who it was from, when she received it, and why she received it. She kept it all.

Ella is survived by sisters Arla Ogle of Topeka, KS, Karla Bahret, of Silver Lake, KS, and Robin Velez of Parkville, MO; brothers Bert (Tina) Bahret of Havensville, KS, Earl (Julie) Bahret of Soldier, KS, Barton (Marcia) Bahret of Valley Falls, KS and Steve Bahret (Gena Marquez) of Grantville, KS. Ella is also survived by sisters-in-law, Terri Bahret of Silver Lake, KS and Penny Bahret of Lecompton, KS; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Blair Eddy and Carol (Elder) Bahret; sister, Illa Kay Koblar; brothers Roscoe, Ernie and Vernon (Sam); and brother-in-law Jim Ogle.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at New Life Church of the Nazarene in Holton. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Havensville Cemetery.
