ELEONORA TERESA HEINEN PECINOVSKY
Eleonora Teresa Heinen Pecinovsky, 96, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at the Jefferson County Memorial Geriatric Center in Winchester.
She was born Jan. 18, 1911, on the family farm west of Valley Falls, the daughter of John and Clara Wadle Heinen. She graduated from St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School in Valley Falls.
Eleonora had worked at a pharmacy in Alma, which she owned with her husband. She also had worked at pharmacies at Manhattan and Topeka. After retiring, she was a caregiver to many family members. She was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church at Valley Falls and also the church's Altar Society.
She married Albert Joseph Pecinovsky, on Aug. 11, 1937, at Valley Falls. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1961. She was also preceded in death by her son, Father Albert John Pecinovsky, on Jan. 24, 2003, and two brothers, Lambert W. Heinen, on Oct. 6, 1994, and Anthony J. Heinen, on Feb. 18, 1998.
Survivors include her sister, Sister Mary Heinen, Johnston, IA, and many nephews and nieces and also their children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the church cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.. Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church or to Jefferson County Hospice and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
