Mabel "Eileen" Griffin, 94, of Holton, KS, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at her home in Holton. She was born May 24, 1925 in Holton, the daughter of Ernest R. and Anna "Lucille" (Hannah) White.

Eileen graduated from Holton High School in 1943. She helped with her family-owned body shop as a bookkeeper and as Librarian for 20 years at Beck Bookman Library.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bookman Club, Holton VFW Auxiliary and United Methodist Women. Eileen was a Past Worthy Matron for Eastern Star Columbian Chapter in Holton.

She married Russell H. Griffin on May 31, 1947 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1983; after over 35 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn R. White; 2 brothers, Raymond and Gene White; daughter-in-law, Carol Griffin and son-in-law, George Coyne.

Survivors include her children, Betty Coyne of Topeka, KS, Leroy Griffin (Geraldine) of St. Louis, MO, Ronald Griffin of Midwest City, OK and LuAnn Satchell (Michael) of Ft. Worth, TX; 5 grandchildren, Scott Griffin, Brian Griffin, Michelle Withers, Russell Shaver and Rachel Satchell and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
