Edward W. Stoll, 97, of Holton passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Holton Community Hospital. He was born September 7, 1915 in Holton, the son of William and Amanda (Schirmer) Stoll.
Ed graduated from Holton High School in 1933. He was a farmer for most of his life.
Ed was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church, Vanguard Sunday School Class and served as a teacher and superintendent. He also served as Trustee at the church. He served on the South Holton School Board in the 1960's and later on the Holton School Board for 15 years. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Circleville and was awarded Outstanding Alumni of Holton High School in 2010.
Ed married Ellen May Furgason on January 22, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Sally Ellen Jorgensen and her husband, Kurt, of Overland Park, KS; a sister Susanna Taylor of Topeka; 3 grandsons, Ryan Jorgensen and his wife, Iris, Kyle and Eric Jorgensen; many nieces and nephews; 3 sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law.
Ed was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Stoll.
Mr. Stoll was cremated. Memorial services were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton. Inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2013 in Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Evangel United Methodist Church Music Dept. c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
