Edna Mae Minner-Hayes, 82, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. She was born November 2, 1925 in Havensville, KS. She was the daughter of Irwin H. and Ellen Ruth Deaver Gallagher.
She went to Coal Creek Country School and graduated from Havensville High School in 1942. She had previously lived in the Soldier and Goff communities and has been in Holton since 1987. She was a homemaker and farmwife.
Edna Mae married Francis L. Minner on November 7, 1943 in Havensville, KS. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1975. She married Rex King on February 11, 1978 in Holton. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1987. She married Charles G. Hayes on May 20, 1989 in Holton. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Minner on January 26, 2005. She is survived by sons, Lyle Minner (Lana) of Topeka, KS and Duane Minner (Claudia) of Soldier, KS; daughters, Nancy Lundin (Jackie) of Circleville, KS, Carol Minner (Alan) of Topeka, KS, and Connie Barnhart (Cliff) of Havensville, KS; sister Wilma Fiske of Salina, KS; step-daughter, Marsha Gifford of Arkansas City, KS; step-sons, Dennis Hayes of Topeka, Richard Hayes of Washington, Darrell Hayes of Richland, WA, and Randy Hayes of Great Bend, KS; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
