Edna Marguerite Jackson, 98, formerly of Valley Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at ANEW Healthcare in Nortonville. She was born on July 11, 1923 in Dunavant, KS, the daughter of Luther S. and Lora Alice (Davis) Smith.

Edna worked for 10 years at Topeka Tent and Awning and for over 9 years in housekeeping at Valley View Nursing Home.

She was a long-time member the Ladies Auxiliary of Grahem-Herbers VFW Post 3084 in Valley Falls

Edna married James "Jim" Louis Jackson on September 9, 1957 in Bentonville, AR. They celebrated over 30 years of marriage before he passed on May 30, 1988.

Survivors include 3 sons; Jerry Jackson (Karen) of Topeka, KS, Robert Jackson (Vicky) of Gardner, KS, Larry Jackson (Xianghong) of Lawrence, KS; 2 daughters, Sheri Daniel of Leavenworth, KS, Cathy Jackson of Winchester, KS; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. At the conclusion of the visitation, we will go in procession to the graveside service at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Edna will lie in state Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. from 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Auxiliary of Grahem-Herbers VFW Post 3084 c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
