Netawaka- Duane E. Wilson, 86, of Netawaka died Sunday January 9, 2011 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
He was born August 1, 1924 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Dallas S. and Edith (Watson) Wilson. He graduated from Holton High School in 1943. On December 3, 1950, he married Mona Wiley in Holton. He was a member of the Netawaka Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge Polar Star #130 of Whiting. Duane was the owner of Wilson Trucking for over 40 years and was also a farmer.
He is survived by: his wife, Mona of the home; his sons, Gary Wilson (Brenda) of Holton, KS, Keith Wilson (Rosanna) of Circleville, KS and Daryl Wilson of Netawaka, KS; his brother Bill Wilson of Circleville, Ks; his 9 grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Jason, Jared and Kelsey Wilson, Krista Childs, Jodi Elekes, Megin Mattel and Austin Freed; and his 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 12th at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Netawaka Methodist Church and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
