Douglas Lee "Doug" Hufford, 66, of Lake in the Hills, IL, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Barrington, IL. He was born March 13, 1958 in Troy, OH, the son of Gerald and Glenda "Kay" (Cashman) Hufford.

Doug graduated from Holton High School in 1976 and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business at Kansas State University in 1980. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1988; honorably discharged as Captain in Military Aviation.

Doug was a Commercial Airline Pilot for American Airlines for 29 years.

Survivors include his brother, Mark Hufford (Jo) of Holton, KS; niece, Kyli Hufford Brane (Brian); nephew, Major Britton Hufford (Fiancé, Emily) and great-nieces Sydnee and Adelynn Brane.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Kay Hufford.

Doug will lie in state Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Graveside service with Military Honors will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Holton Cemetery.
