Holton- Dorothy Fern Wenger, 86, formerly of Holton, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at a care facility in Topeka. She was born December 25, 1919 in Fairview, KS, the daughter of William Riley and Martha Rebecca Rosenbalm Chadwell.
She was a graduate of Fairview High School. She moved to Holton from Powhattan in 1947. Mrs. Wenger worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory and later as a cook for the Holton School District for 19 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton and the L.W.M.L. at the church.
She was married to Rapheal C. "Rafe" Wenger on March 3, 1945 in Brigham City, Utah. He survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Marie D. Holt and her husband, Alan of Topeka, her son, Delaine H. Wenger and his wife, Carrie of Topeka, her sister, Arnita Yingling and her husband, Lyle of Troy, KS, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A committal service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Powhattan Cemetery. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton.
