Dorothy Marie "Dotty" Thompson-Graves, 59, of Topeka, KS passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home with family by her side. She was born March 31, 1959 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of John and Dorothy Elizabeth (Burrows) Winston.

Dotty graduated from Seaman High School in 1977 and had lived most of her life in Topeka. She worked construction; building hotels, homes and office buildings. Most recently she was a banquet server for Capitol Plaza Hotel.

She was a member of North Topeka Baptist Church. Dotty enjoyed collecting eagles and Christmas bears.

Dotty married Douglas Dale Graves on March 24, 2004 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her mother, Dorothy Rice of Cannon City, CO; a daughter, Angel M. Robinson of Topeka and a son, Michael Scott Hill of Ferguson, MO; 2 sisters, Marvina "Jane" Browell of Cannon City, CO and Donna Walch (Steve) of Belton, MO; a brother, John Winston of Crockett, TX and 2 granddaughters, Rachel A. Robinson and Destiny Rae Hayes.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Winston and a sister, Sue Jones.

Visitation and viewing will be 10:00-11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Dorothy Thompson Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
