Dorothy M. Kemp, 89, of Holton, KS passed away December 26, 2008 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born November 7, 1919 in Vanoss, OK the daughter of J.D. and Ruth A. Solomon.
She was a member of the Holton community for 47 years and had previously lived in Garden City. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton and member of the O.E.S.
Dorothy married Lem Kemp on November 7, 1936 in Roswell, NM. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2008. She was also preceded by her granddaughter, Cathy Howell on August 19, 2008 and one sister.
Survivors include a son, Bill Kemp of Shawnee, KS; a sister, Wanda Haase of Muskogee, OK; a grandson and 3 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Holton Cemetery. She will lie in state until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
