HENSLEY
Holton – Dorothy I. Hensley, 88, of Holton, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Community Hospital in Onaga. She was born March 4, 1920 in Holton, the daughter of Marion Arthur and Alice Elizabeth Fisher Beightel.
Dorothy graduated from Circleville High School in 1938. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Banner Ladies Aide. She lived in Mayetta and Onaga for a short time, but lived most of her life in Holton. Dorothy was a homemaker and farmwife.
Dorothy married Arley Hensley on January 28, 1939 in Holton. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1985. She was also preceded by brothers, Marvin, Delmar and Merrill Beightel. She is survived by her sister, Berniece Hyman of Mocksville, NC; her brothers, Gerald Beightel and his wife, Dorothy of Holton, KS and Paul Beightel of El Paso, TX; her sister-in-law, Norma Beightel of Emporia, KS and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson Co. Senior Citizens Center c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
