Dorothy A. "Dot" Evans, 72, Winchester, formerly of Valley Falls, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at her home.
She was born April 26, 1939, at Kansas City, KS, the daughter of
George and Gladys Roush Caldwell. She graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS.
Dorothy had worked in the Data Processing Department for Zip Processing at Merchants National Bank in Topeka. She also had worked at Security Benefit Life in Topeka and Richards Insurance Agency in Kansas City, KS.
Dorothy married Kenneth Evans on Dec. 13, 1968, in Miami, OK. Kenneth preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Lee (Yupin) Evans, Lawrence, Kevin P. (Diana) Evans, Overbrook, and John Mark Evans, Valley Falls; five stepsons, Jim (Sarah) Duncan, Paola, Rich (Robin) Duncan, Edwardsville, Billy Duncan, Gardner, Tom (Debbi) Duncan, Paola, Dale (Linda) Duncan, McLouth; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild is expected.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday.
