HOLTON- Dorothy H. MacArthur Beatty Burget, 82, of Holton, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at an Onaga care facility. She was born February 23, 1925 in Royal Oak, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Hilda Havenstein MacArthur.
Dorothy graduated from Paxico High School and lived in Topeka for 15 years before moving to Holton in 1959. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton.
She was married to Alvin L. Beatty in 1945 in Topeka. He died in 1970. She later married LeRoy Burget on September 19, 1977 in Holton, KS. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Raymond Beatty of Holton, KS; her daughter, Linda Beatty of Anchorage, Alaska; 4 step-children, Kathy, David, Richard and Tim; her brothers, Delmar MacArthur of Garnett and Larry MacArthur of Richmond, KS; 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
