Doris Elaine Morris, 85, of Topeka, KS, formerly of Wetmore, KS, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at her home. She was born April 27, 1936 in Wetmore, KS, the daughter of Ross R. "Dick" and Velma L. (Mayer) Nickell.

Doris graduated from Wetmore High School in 1954. She worked alongside her husband as bookkeeper at Derby Gas Station in Topeka. She also worked as grocery checker at A & P Grocery in Holton and Topeka and Safeway Grocery in Topeka.

Doris married Raymond H. "Ray" Morris on May 22, 1954 in Holton. They celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage before his passing on May 14, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Velma Nickell; sister, Arlene Davidson and a brother, Keith R. Nickell.

Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Morris of Holton, KS and Randy Morris of Perry, KS; daughter, Linda Baker-Evans (Alonzo) of Topeka, KS; 2 sisters, Dixie Bontrager (Jack) of Whiting, KS and Shirley Sweeting (Roger) of Key West, FL; 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Wetmore Cemetery.
