JOHNSON

Mayetta—Doris M. Johnson, 80, of Mayetta, died February 27, 2006 at the Holton Hospital.
Doris was born November 29, 1925 in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of Floyd and Lela Gammons Boggs. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1943. She had lived in the Mayetta Community since 1946.
Doris had worked for Scarlett's Upholstery in Mayetta, for the Kansas Revenue Department and as a cook for Mayetta High School. She also worked at the Mayetta Oil Company for over 25 years before she retired.
She was a youth leader for the Mayetta Mustangs 4-H and was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #383 at Mayetta. She had recently served as a volunteer for St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was married to Carl C. Johnson on June 8, 1945 in Hoyt, Kansas. He died May 7, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Denise Johnson in 1970 and a sister, Helen Bunch.
Survivors include 2 sons, Floyd "Butch" Johnson and his wife, Carol of Colleyville, TX and Robert Johnson and his wife, Donna of Mayetta, KS, 2 daughters, Monica Roediger and her husband, Mike of Manhattan, KS and Mary Johnson of Mayetta, KS, a brother, Gene Boggs and his wife, Ruth of Benton, AR, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Mayetta Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
