Doris Jean Hutting, 95, of Circleville, KS, formerly of Lenexa, KS, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Holton Community Hospital. She was born December 14, 1924 in Madison, WI, the daughter of William J. and Margaret (Anderson) Pick.

Doris graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1943. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Physical Education in 1947. While at MSU, Doris was on the Swim Team and Water Aerobics (Synchronized Swimming).

Doris worked as a P.E. Teacher in Michigan and later for Kuhlman Dye Casting in Stanley, KS in the insurance claims dept. She was also a member of the Shawnee Mission Hospital Auxiliary.

She married Paul Joseph Hutting on Aug. 21 in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1961. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Hutting; a grandson, Toby Smith; a granddaughter, Aiyana Smith and 2 sisters, Pauline Pick and Mona Richardson.

Survivors include 2 sons, Richard W. "Dick" Hutting (Henrietta) of Circleville, KS and William B. "Bill" Hutting of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Linda Dunn (Keith) of Lenexa, KS; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Private Family Services will be at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
