Obituary

Donald Ray Widner, 81, of Holton formerly of Mayetta died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at a Topeka Hospital. He was born on January 22, 1930 in North Platte, NE, the son of Ray H. and Mary Jane Spear Widner.
Donald graduated from Laramie High School in Laramie, Wyoming and was a journeyman sheet metal worker until his retirement. He was a member of Sheet Metal Local #2 of Topeka and a past Master of the Mayetta Masonic Lodge #393. He was a veteran of the Wyoming National Guard and a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton.
Donald married Alvena M. Walker on June 26, 1949. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Terry Lee Widner and wife Kathy Logan of Topeka and Susan M. McClintock and husband Roger of Holton; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery with Masonic Honors. The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Jackson County Friends of Hospice and may be left in c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
