Donald Gene "DG" Hoffman, II, 57, Effingham, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home.
He was born June 1, 1957, at Winchester, the son of Donald G. and Margaret Ann Weeks Hoffman.
DG had worked at Skinners Nursery, Topeka, W.D. Pickers Antique Mall, Platte City, MO, and Blish-Mize Co., Atchison. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing furniture, oil painting, antiquing, and searching for Native American artifacts.
DG enjoyed relating interesting stories and facts to his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Scott Harper.
Survivors include a brother, Warren J. Darst, Oskaloosa; three sisters, Cheryl L. Tate Harper, Topeka, Sandra L. Fairchild and Patricia J. (Mark) Stone, all of Valley Falls; and many nephews and nieces.
The Memorial Service will be private and inurnment will be at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements
