Dona Faye Trostle, 90, of Soldier, KS, formerly of Hutchinson, KS, passed away, Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Sabetha Manor. She was born December 20, 1931 in Cleveland, OK, the daughter of Elza and Gladys (Lee) Shields.

Dona graduated from Leon High School in 1949 at Leon, KS. She was a housewife and homemaker. Dona was a member of the First Christian Church in Haverhill, KS.

She married Robert Alvin Trostle on February 25, 1954 in Weisbaden, Germany. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2020; after celebrating over 65 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Sherwood; 2 sister, Betty Evans and Patty Burris and 3 brothers, Ronald, Larry and Reggie Shields.

Survivors include her 3 children, Robert A. Trostle, Jr. (Michele) of Outing, MN, Pamela Holland (Jeffrey) of Pottsboro, TX and Lisa Uhl (George) of Soldier, KS; 2 sisters, Connie Lee of Hutchinson, KS and Linda Sheave of Newton, KS; 1 brother, Kent Shields of Cleburne, TX; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Private Family Inurnment will be at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
