Dolores Y. Johnson, 82, of Topeka, KS passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born March 2, 1936 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Leslie M. and Marie V. (Vice) Hamm.
Dolores graduated from San Diego High School in 1954. She had lived most of her life in Topeka and Holton area; she also lived in Yakima, WA and San Diego, CA.
In her early years, she was self-employed with her husband at their resort in Missouri; she also worked for Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton. After moving to Topeka, Dolores worked for League of Kansas Municipalities, Sears, Security Benefit, EDS Federal and Blue Cross and Blue Shield all in Topeka.
She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church, Blue Cross Retirees and Keenagers all in Topeka.
Dolores married Delbert Dean Johnson; he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, David D. Johnson in 2004.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William E. "Bill" Johnson of Topeka, KS; a foster-daughter, Deborah Helms of Auburn, NE; 4 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Private inurnment will be at a later date in Holton Cemetery.
