Dixie M. Wark, 50, of Whiting, KS died Monday, August 25, 2008 at her brother's home after an illness. She was born February 24, 1958 in Winchester, KS, the daughter of Harold and June McMullen Lux, Jr.
Dixie graduated from Valley Falls High School. She was a label operator at Oldhams for ten years. She and her husband, Jim had traveled from 2002 until his death.
Dixie married Jim Wark on July 16, 1990 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2004. She was also preceded by her parents, and her first husband, Milton Wilson. She is survived by daughters, Montie Hardenberger of Wetmore and Jamie Wilson of Whiting; sister, Cindy Simpson of Hoyt; brothers, Tom Lux of Denison and Jim Lux of Nortonville; step-children, Mike Wark, Marty Wark, J.D. Wark, and Bridget Krug; grandchildren, Brittany Hardenberger, Eric Hardenberger, and Tristan Wilson; and several step-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 6:30 – 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
