Dixie Joan Alsept, 82, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born December 31, 1934 in Mayetta, KS, the daughter of Cecil Lloyd and Gertrude Evangeline (Scheidegger) Wells.

Dixie graduated from Mayetta High School in 1952 and Kaw Area Vo-Tech earning her LPN Degree. She was an LPN for Merry Manor Nursing Home in Holton for many years; also she worked as a nurse for other various places.

She married Jack Riggles, they divorced. She married George Meggison, they later divorced. She married Henry Clay Alsept on January 2, 1994; he preceded her in death on March 13, 2009.

Survivors include 3 sons, Kyle J. Riggles (Julie) of Mayetta, KS, Cory C. Riggles (Tina) of Mayetta, KS and Craig M. Riggles (Christine) of Topeka, KS; a daughter, Kristi G. Miller (Clint) of Mayetta, KS; a sister, Rita Darlene Rawlings of Mayetta, KS; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Evan Prochnow.
Memorial Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Heart of Jackson Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
