Diana L. Miller, 52, Valley Falls, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Midland Hospice in Topeka.
She was born Feb. 4, 1957, at Westmoreland, the daughter of Kenneth D. and Beverly A. Walsh Miller. She graduated from Wamego High School in 1974 and had lived in Valley Falls since 1986.
Diana had worked as a Supervisor and a Trainer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Topeka for 28 years.
She married David W. Shields in Topeka, on Oct. 31, 1980. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Meillier.
Survivors include two sons, Shannon Shields, and his wife, Karyn, Emporia, and Sterling Shields, Valley Falls; a daughter, Summer Shields, Topeka; two brothers, Dean Miller, and his wife, Laurie, and Daniel Miller, all of Silver Lake; a sister, Denise Coffman, and her husband, Dan, Wamego, and two grandchildren, Abbie and Emma Shields.
Cremation is planned. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday. Online condolences are at mercerfuneralhomes.com
