Obituary

Dennis Wayne Boeckman, 58, of Baldwin City, KS formerly of Goff, passed away May 19, 2014 at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab. Dennis had lifelong battle with Melnick- Needles Syndrome. He was born September 17, 1955 in Seneca, the son of Raymond and Lucille (Deters) Boeckman.

Dennis had lived his younger years in Goff. He then moved to Topeka and lived at KNI. When KNI closed, he moved to Cottonwood Inc. in Lawrence where he stayed for 20 years before spending the last year and a half in Baldwin City.He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Daryl Boeckman of Goff, Steve Boeckman (Marilyn) of Wetmore and Kevin Boeckman (Joyce) of Goff and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church in Wetmore. Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with visitation to follow. Burial will be in the Wetmore Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Dennis Boeckman Memorial Fund to be used for the purchase of a headstone or American Cancer Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
