Dennis E. Amon, 46, of Whiting, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at his home. He was born September 6, 1961 in Holton, KS the son of Wayne and Judith Kay Meyle Amon.
He graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1979. In 1981 he graduated from Vo Tech Auto Mechanics in Atchison, KS. He moved to Whiting from Netawaka in 1985. He had worked at Neon Tube Light in Topeka and Alamo Group in Holton. He was currently working at Del Monte in Topeka as a machine operator. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka, KS. Dennis married Shelly Paxton on September 3, 1983 in Holton. They were later divorced.
Dennis is survived by sons, Kyle Amon of Whiting and Zachary Amon of the home; father, Wayne Amon of Netawaka; sister, Debbie Butler and her husband, Chad of Wichita; brothers, Randy Amon and his wife, Tanya of Whiting and Richard Amon and his wife, Donna of Beech Island, SC. Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Amon in 1994 and his mom, Judith Amon in 2004.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Netawaka. Burial will be in the Netawaka Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
