Holton- Denise M. McAlexander, 48, of Holton, KS passed away December 31, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born October 2, 1963 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Chuck and Ginny (Burghart) Trygg.

Denise graduated from Topeka High School. She had lived in the Holton community since 1992. She had worked for Del Monte Pet Foods PPIC for over 20 years.

Denise married Rick McAlexander on June 2, 1993 in Estes Park, CO. Survivors include her parents, Chuck and Ginny Trygg of Topeka, KS; 1 son, Cody Cobler (Rachel) of Lee's Summit, MO; 2 daughters, Kayli Cobler of Topeka, KS and Dylan McAlexander of Holton, KS; 2 sisters, Kelly Trygg-Lightfoot (Jerry) of Brighton, MO and Tracy Aguilar-Calixto (Basi) of Mexico and 3 grandchildren, Xander, Caiden and Zo.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lucas Cobler.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in the South Denison Cemetery.
