Delores E. Young, 74, of Mayetta, KS died Friday, February 13, 2009. She was born December 17, 1934 in Keshena, WI, the daughter of Amos John and Rebecca Mary Simon Young.
She had lived in the Mayetta community for the last 4 years. She had previously lived in Wisconsin, California, and Arizona. She retired from Bank of America as a bank encoder. She was a member of the Indian Revival Center Assembly of God in Bell Gardens, CA. She was a member of the church choir. She is a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Delores is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth A. Young of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Alfreda F. Young of Milwaukee, WI, and Mary L. Young of Mayetta, KS; 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Jean Young and a brother in infancy.
Delores was cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at a later date in Wisconsin. Memorials may be given to Midland Hospice or St. Francis Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
