Delores Ann “Kademkokwe” Maines, 67, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026 at her brother’s home in Topeka, KS, with family by her side. She was born October 9, 1958 in Holton, KS, the daughter of Frank E. and Elizabeth (Rice) Maines.
Delores graduated from Chilocco High School. She worked at Oldham’s Meat Packing for many years and also worked for the Prairie Band Health Center as a Certified Medical Assistant from 2007 until retirement.
She was a member of the Lakeview Faith Chapel in Holton and belonged to the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Maines of Topeka, KS; a sister, Shirley Harker of Mayetta, KS and a good friend, Theodora Maines of Melbourne, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, LeRoy Gene “Wahzockeeya” Maines.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Shipshee Cemetery in Mayetta. Family will greet friends 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
