MAYETTA-Delmus Dean Jenkins, 69, of Mayetta, KS passed away April 3, 2008 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. He was born September 4, 1938 in Holton, KS the son of John Alfred and Hazel Owen Hughes Jenkins.
He had worked at BMB Inc. in Holton, Dupont/Flexel in Topeka, Beatrice Foods and Quaker in Topeka.
Mr. Jenkins married Sharon Harmon on April 1, 1959. They later divorced.
Survivors include 2 sons, Delmus D. Jenkins, Jr. of Mayetta, KS, Don L. Jenkins of Topeka, KS; a daughter Sheri A. Avila of Silver Lake, KS; a sister, Judy Smalley in California; a brother, Gerald Jenkins of Holton, KS; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Baldwin and 2 brothers, Ronald Jenkins and Larry Jenkins.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
