Debra A. Gallentine

Debra Ann Gallentine, 70, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at her granddaughter’s home in Topeka. She was born April 2, 1956 in Fairbury, Nebraska, the daughter, of Loren Dean and Patricia Ann (Schuessler) James. She graduated from Holton High School in 1974.

Debra worked as a Purchasing Specialist for the State of Kansas in the Department of Labor, retiring after 25 years of employment.

She is survived by her son, Chad M. Gallentine of Topeka, Kansas; her daughter, Amanda Wright of Raytown, Missouri; sister, Lori Yerger (Chad) of Dover, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Richard James (Kimberly) of Topeka, Kansas and Randy James (Marcia) of Topeka, Kansas; two granddaughters, Kelsi Wright (Jonathan) and Lauren Alvarez (Juan) and two great granddaughters, Lily and Lucy.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Patrica.

Debra’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
