David Leonard Myers, 87, of Leavenworth, KS, formerly of Holton, KS, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Leavenworth. He was born February 1, 1938 in Soldier, KS, the son of Thomas and Helen (Swanson) Myers.

David earned his GED. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1960. He was a member of American Legion Post 44.

David married Lola Seamands in 1961; she preceded him in death in 1987. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen Myers; 2 sisters, Rosemary Scheid and Barbara Jean Ramsey; 2 brothers, William and Thomas Myers and son-in-law, James Stewart.

Survivors include his 2 children, Russell Myers (Sandra) of Solvang, CA and Kimberly Stewart of Leavenworth, KS and 2 grandsons, Christopher Stewart of Leavenworth and Brian Stewart of Brown Mills, N.J.

Graveside with Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2025 at Olive Hill Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mercer Funeral Home (to help with expenses), P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
