WATSON

HOLTON- Darle Lee Watson, Sr., 67, of Holton, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born January 3, 1939 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Ruby Lowe and Verdia Southard Johnson. He had moved to Holton from Missouri 35 years ago.
Darle served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a truck driver. He had worked for Mid-Cities Trucking in St. Joe, Collins Trucking in Holton and Keim Trucking in Sabetha.
He was married to Nancy Simpson on June 19, 1960 in St. Joe. They were later divorced. He was married to Twila M. South on June 11, 1971 in Miami, OK. She survives. Other survivors include 3 sons, Darle Lee Watson, Jr., Kirk Allan Watson and Randall Lynn Watson all of Hiawatha, KS; a daughter, Melinda Ann Watson of Hiawatha, KS; 3 sisters, Joyce Royer of Arrington, KS, Peggy Reese of St. Joe, MO and Pamela Vandeloo of Utica, NE and 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bonnie McDevitt, and brothers, Albert and Stevie Johnson.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery.
