KELLERMAN
HOLTON- Dale Marvin Kellerman, 72, of Holton died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 27, 1934 in Stuttgart, KS the son of Paul and Alwina Merklein Kellerman. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1952 and from Fort Hays State University in 1956 with a Business Administration Degree. He was a member of Kappa Sigma at Fort Hays.
Dale had lived in Great Bend, KS prior to moving to Holton in 1959. He entered into the insurance business with Jim Parmiter in 1963. The company was known as Parmiter-Kellerman Insurance. He later partnered with H.J. Hershey at Kellerman-Hershey Insurance Agency. He eventually owned Kellerman Insurance Inc. and Kellerman Real Estate Inc. with his daughter, Cindy.
Dale was a member Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton where he served as an Elder and as Congregational Chairman. He was a member of the Holton Rotary Club where he served as past president and received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He was also a long time member of the Holton Country Club where he was past president and board member. He had been a volunteer for the Holton Fire Department and belonged to both the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents and Realtors.
He was married to Pat Peacock on June 8, 1956 in Great Bend, KS. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Cindy Hower and her husband, Roger of Holton, KS; his granddaughter, Lauren Hower of Holton, KS; 2 brothers, Norman Kellerman and his wife, Lois of Stuttgart, KS, Maynard Kellerman and his wife, Gloria of Beatrice, NE. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orville Kellerman.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
