Obituary

Cynthia Lee Smith, 51, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at The Pines in Holton; after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born December 2, 1968 in Ft. Riley, KS, the daughter of Carlton L and Carol L. (Neal) Miller.

Cynthia graduated from Holton High School in 2015. She had also lived in Clay Center for 8 years and also Greenleaf, KS.

She was a sales clerk and cashier at Holton Walmart, until her health declined. Cynthia enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially fishing for catfish.

Survivors include her mother, Carol Neal of Manhattan, KS; a son, Michael J. Thomas Oom of Morrill, KS; a daughter, Carole N. Oom of Junction City, KS; a sister, Tammy Miller of Junction City, KS; 2 brothers, Matthew Miller of California and Travis Neal (Ashley) of Crestview, FL; 3 grandchildren and a longtime friend and caretaker, Shannon Sawyer of Holton, KS.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS. Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Friends of Hospice, c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
