Obituary
Clyde Simon Smith, 88, Olathe, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Olathe Medical Center.
He was born on April 1, 1924, at Valley Falls, KS, the son of Carl and Mattie O'Neal Smith. He graduated from Winchester High School.
Clyde was a sheet metal worker and had owned and operated Smitty's Heating and Cooling in Olathe for 26 years.
He married Norma J. Beerbower on July 22, 1950, at Lawrence. She died on Aug. 4, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Allen Smith, in infancy, and two sisters, Charlene Elizabeth Adams and Ruth Ann Fowler.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford (Sharon) Smith, and LeRoy Smith, all of Olathe; a daughter, Linda (James) Briuer, Olathe; and five grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
