Claudell C. Schulz, 90, of Holton, KS passed away July 19, 2013 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born October 16, 1922 at Holton, the daughter of Claude E. and Bernadean (Cann) Hale. She attended Lower Banner and Maple Grove grade school and Holton High School. She worked at various nursing homes in Holton. She wrote the Maple Grove News for The Holton Recorder for over 40 years.

Mrs. Schulz was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church and the Kings Daughters Sunday School Class. She was a lifetime resident of the Holton community.

She married Walter O. Schulz on September 2, 1938 in Holton. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Schulz; a brother, Billie Hale; 2 sisters, Jean Routh and Claudine Mason and an infant brother, Claude E. Hale, Jr.

Survivors include a son, Alan Schultz and his wife, Vera, of Topeka, KS; three daughters, Karen Cullinan and her husband, Ron, of Springfield, OR, and twins, Carolyn Bohannon and her husband, Don, of Lyndon, KS and Marilyn Sonnentag and her husband, Dennis, of Edgar, WI; a daughter-in-law, Mary Schulz of Holton, KS; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
