Obituary

DENISON- Clarence Frederick Kranz, 89, of Denison, KS passed away Monday October 18, 2010 at Medicalodges Jackson County. He was born August 7, 1921 in Larkinburg, KS the son of Fred and Josephine Chick Kranz. He attended Carbon School near Larkinburg. Clarence was a farmer and Stockman all of his life and had lived on his farm east of Denison since 1948. He was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and Holton V.F.W. Post #1367. He had served on the Denison School Board and was a leader for Denison Builders 4-H Club. Clarence proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II and received a purple heart and a bronze star.
He was married to Ethabelle "Bonnie" Claycamp on June 1, 1947 in Wamego, KS. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willis Kranz and his sister, Roberta Sutton.
His survivors include his son, Ronald E. Kranz (Marlene) of Holton, KS; his daughters, Karen M. McCrory (Glen) and Nancy K. Bell (George)all of Rossville, KS; his brother, Howard Kranz of Wetmore, KS; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday October 21, 2010 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Logan McCrory fund, a great grandson, for his ongoing spina bifida medical expenses or Jackson Heights Honor Flight c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
