Christine D. Lewis, 59, of Kansas City, MO, died Friday, June 09, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City. She was born December 25, 1946 in Little Eagle, SD, the daughter of William Bobtail Bear and Thelma Lawrence. Christine was the daughter-in-law of the late Connie Lewis.
She attended school at Fort Yates High School in North Dakota and was a retired Certified Nurses Assistant. She was a member of the Standing Rock Sioux and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in K.C., MO.
She was married Charles A. Magnauck Lewis on May 17, 1966 in Chula Vista, CA. They renewed their vows in June of 1991 in Kansas City. He survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Tami McClammy of Topeka and Charlene Lewis of Longdale, OK, her son, James A. Lewis of K.C., MO, 2 sisters, 4 brothers and 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney and Stephanie McClammy, Pamela, Chelsea William and Brandon Lewis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church west of Mayetta, KS. Burial will be in Shipshee Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Sister Theresa Klepac Hall next to the church. She will lie in state until 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
