Charlotte Eva "Eve" Carlson, 101, Prairie Village, KS, formerly of Valley Falls, KS, died on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Brighton Gardens care facility in Prairie Village.
She was born on May 24, 1907, at Junction City, the daughter of William and Rose Oswald Murray. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1925.
Eve worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, and later for a certified public accountant in Moline, IL. She moved back to Wichita in 1966 to care for her daughter, Carolyne, and her family. She moved to Valley Falls in 1972 to live with her sister, Arlene. In 2006, they moved to Overland Park.
She was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Wichita and later attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Valley Falls.
She married Arthur J. Carlson at Junction City. He died on Oct. 31, 1962. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyne Rose Langholz; two brothers, John Murray and Bill Murray, and two sisters, Arlene Nescher and Gertrude Cross.
Survivors include her son, Arthur J. Carlson Jr., and his wife, Pat; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Eve was blessed with a century of life full of family, love and friendship.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct.10, 2008, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Valley Falls. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery at Manhattan. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
