JACOBSON

MAYETTA – Charles Jacobson, 97, of Mayetta died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at a Topeka hospital. He was born October 13, 1908 in Arpin, WI. He was the son of Andrew and Maggie Sheppo Jacobson.
Charles married Virginia M. Delgadillo on December 29, 1937 in Sopurton, WI. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2002. He is survived by a son, Charles "Chuck" Jacobson and his wife, Dee of Mayetta; daughters, Carol Kern and her husband, Darell of Mayetta, Shirley Jacobson and her husband, Roger Ortega of Topeka, and Judy Darnell and her husband, Eldon of Mayetta; Fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Lorraine, Virginia, Ethel and Rachel and brothers; John and Jessie.
Charles had worked for M.W. Watson Construction, J.A. Lundgren Construction and Ross Clements Construction all in Topeka. He later owned and operated North Side Antiques in Holton with his wife, Virginia for 26 years. He was a member of the Potawatomi United Methodist Church west of Mayetta and was the oldest living member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation in the area.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Mayetta Cemetery. He will lie in state beginning Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Potawatomi United Methodist Church and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
