Obituary

Charles Duguid, 83, Winchester, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at the F.W. Huston Senior Living Center at Winchester.
He was born on May 30, 1927, at Winchester, the son of Millard Thomas and Helen Fields Duguid. He graduated from Winchester High School. Charles was a farmer and owned a construction business building many homes in the area. He was a member of the Winchester Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Charles married Edith Mae Keys on April 26, 1946, at Winchester. She survives. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Sterret Duguid, Leroy Duguid, James Duguid, Duane Duguid, and Paul Duguid; two sisters, May Trower and Louise Swenson, and a son-in-law, Mike Wallace.
Survivors also include a son, Philip (Eleanor) Duguid, Meriden; four daughters, Sharon (Carl) Mathews, Lawrence, Eileen (Ed) Filbert, and Joan Wallace, both of Winchester, and Brenda (Fred) Kuntz, Midlothian, TX; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at the Winchester Reformed Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in Winchester. Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls where Mr. Duguid will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winchester Reformed Presbyterian Church or to Jefferson County Friends of Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
