Catherine Alice Duncan, 75, of Netawaka, KS passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS; after an accidental fire at her home. She was born November 1, 1942 in Fair Play, MO the daughter of Guy and Katherine Pearl (Jones) Schmitt.

Catherine lived in Netawaka since 1978 and previously in Fairview and Holton. She was a homemaker all of her life. She also worked for PJ's Restaurant and briefly at Golden Eagle Casino.

Catherine married Harold Duncan on June 28, 1978 in Whiting, KS. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Lyle Duncan.

Survivors include a son, David Schraer (Liz) of Wetmore, KS; 2 daughters, Betty Schraer (Jerry) of Netawaka, KS and Norma Gossman (Gerald) of Garden City, KS; a sister, Eleanor Hottman of Horton, KS; a niece, Kathy Riggs of Manhattan, KS; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Holton Cemetery.
