Carol S. McAfee, Lynn Haven, FL, formerly of Topeka, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Covenant Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital in Panama City, FL.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1933, at Longmont, CO, the daughter of Arthur C. and Eva Fisk Skow. She had attended Manhattan Bible College. She graduated from Washburn University in Topeka in 1988.
Carol was a missionary with her husband, Dale McAfee, in Brazil, South America, for 20 years. She taught English for ten years at the Women's Correctional Facility in Topeka.
She married Dale McAfee on Aug. 26, 1951, at Longmont, CO. He died on Aug.23, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Skow, and Jonathan Fisk; and two sisters, Irma Burton and Frances Davis.
Survivors include Steven (Patty) McAfee, Council Bluffs, IA, Philip (Tabita) McAfee, Sobradinho, Brazil, S.A., Mark McAfee, Lawrence, KS, Samuel McAfee, Lynn Haven, FL, Daniel (Tanessa) McAfee, Azores Islands (near Portugal); two daughters, Linda (Paulo) Teixeira, Marlboro, MA, and Irene (Keith) Smith, Lynn Haven, FL; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Valley Falls Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
