Obituary

Byron J. "B.J." "Ti Kẽm Si" Darnall, 68, of Mayetta, KS passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born October 17, 1951 in Pawnee, OK, the son of Garnett D. Potts and Gladys Cadue Potts.

B.J. attended schools in Sedan, KS and served in the United States Navy. He had lived on the Potawatomi Reservation for over 25 years. He retired from PBPN Road and Bridge.

B.J. was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and We ta se Post #410.

Survivors include his son, James Minnick of Muncie, IN; twin brother, Myron "Jim" Potts and brother, Benny J. Potts both of Mayetta, KS; 2 sisters, Alice Potts and Rose Potts both of Mayetta, KS; 5 half-sisters, Micki Martinez and Evie Hopkins both of Mayetta, KS, Loretta Cashman of Topeka, KS, Lola Cashman of Soldier, KS and Ruth Freeman of Sedan, KS; 4 granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Terry Woodruff.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, September 28, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family Wake and dinner will be Tuesday evening at the Potts Homeplace-13862 O. Rd., Mayetta, KS. Traditional Native American Burial will be Wednesday morning at Potts Cemetery.
