HOLTON-Brian Gene Murphy, 49, of Holton, passed away April 28, 2008 at his home. He was born November 2, 1958 in Abilene, KS the son of Delbert and Lena Rowe Murphy. He lived in the Holton community for 13 years and previously lived in Topeka. He worked as a heavy duty floor tech. He was last employed at Harrah's Casino (later named Prairie Band Casino) for the last 5 years.
He retired from the United States Army National Guard, 714th Maintenance Co. after serving 22 years of service. He also attended the Lakeview Faith Chapel south of Holton.
He married Lisa Borders in 1985, they later divorced. He then married Larice R. Dean Bennett on January 12, 2001 in Holton, KS. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Pamela Murphy of Topeka, KS; 3 sons, Sean Murphy of Gardner, KS, Jeremy Murphy of Holton, KS, Colyn Murphy of the home; 2 sisters, Judy Lincoln of Englewood, FL, Joyce Marts of Topeka, KS; 3 brothers, Lawrence "Butch" Murphy of Geneseo, KS, Dale Murphy and Allen Murphy both of Topeka; and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Darryl Murphy.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Olive Hill Cemetery.
