Brandon Jay Harries, 42, of Topeka, KS, formerly of Jefferson County, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was born July 30, 1980 in Lawrence, KS, the son of Randel C. Harries and Sheila R. Stebbins Harries.

Brandon graduated from Lecompton High School in 1998 and earned his Associates of Arts Degree from Highland Community College.

He worked for over 30 years in carpentry; owning and operating DTRT (Do The Right Thing) and worked for DME Electric in Valley Falls.

Brandon was a member of Northland Christian Church and participated in men's bible study within the church. He enjoyed playing softball, side by side rides, mushroom hunting and elk hunting with his father-in-law, fishing and all outdoor activities. Brandon especially loved being "Gramps", spending time with his wife and his best friend, his dog, Silby.

Survivors include his mother, Sheila Harries of Perry, KS; his father, Randel Harries of Topeka, KS; paternal grandmother, Leone "Granny" Harries of Topeka, KS; wife, Stacy J. Gomez of the home; 6 children, Kaitlyn Gantz (Ben) of Valley Falls, KS, Trinity Gomez (Dawson), Maddox Gomez and Madison Gomez all of Topeka, KS and Cameron and Ella Powell both of Perry, KS; brother, Scott E. Harries (Amanda) of Ozawkie, KS and 3 grandchildren, Naomi, Jovie and Mathias Gantz.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Coal Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Brandon Harries Memorial Fund (to be designated at a later date) c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
