HOLTON- Billie Jean Homan, 92, of Holton, KS, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Medicalodge Jackson County in Holton, KS. She was born July 8, 1927 in Peabody, KS, the daughter of Louis and Alice (Wheeler) Hargett.

Billie Jean graduated from Peabody High School in 1945. She married Richard Eugene Homan on June 29, 1947 in Peabody, KS. They loved to go out with friends and dance. Richard and Billie Jean celebrated over 72 years of marriage. She owned and operated, alongside her husband, the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Holton for 18 years and later managed apartments in Topeka.

Billie Jean and her husband enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Harlingen, TX for over 14 years. They also had a lot of fun playing cards and drinking wine with their family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Richard of the home; 3 children, Vicki Justice (Melvin) of Holton, KS, Richard "Rick" Homan (Kathy) of Grove, OK and Kathleen Bergquist (Robert) of Joplin, MO; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Ethelann Fillingham and Helen Norton.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery.
